christian Tomlinson - President

Christian Tomlinson has over nine years of experience in the security industry as both an executive and operator. Before transitioning to private security, he served nine years in the U.S. Army over two enlistments, supporting missions within the Ordnance Corps and Military Police corrections units. He is a dedicated husband and father of two, and most importantly, a follower of Christ.

I started Veterans Vanguard Security because I believe safety is a form of stewardship and service. Scripture calls us to love our neighbours and protect what has been entrusted to us, and I saw security as a calling, not just a business.

I founded VVS to provide proactive, affordable protection so families, businesses, and places of worship can flourish without fear. I am also committed to giving fellow veterans the opportunity to continue serving with purpose, standing watch and protecting others beyond the uniform.

“And we prayed to our God and set a guard as a protection against them day and night.” Nehemiah 4:9

Jake Petersen - Vice President

I am a seasoned leader whose career spans professional athletics, military service, executive protection, public-sector safety, and advanced training in psychology and neuroscience. As Vice President of Veterans Vanguard Security, I bring a mission-driven commitment to disciplined leadership, human performance, and evidence-based decision-making. As a commissioned U.S. Army Officer, I led military police teams in tactical operations, crisis response, and organizational readiness. In my civilian career, I also served as Chief Operating Officer and Director of Safety & Security for a multi-campus school system, overseeing emergency management, operational strategy, and system-wide safety initiatives.

Before my military service, I competed as a Division I baseball player, two-time First-Team All-American, and MLB draft pick who played professionally with the Los Angeles Angels, developing the discipline and resilience that continue to shape my leadership. Guided by biblical principles and a commitment to service, my wife Courtney and I believe veterans should continue making a meaningful impact beyond their time in uniform through leadership rooted in purpose, character, and service.

"Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act." Psalm 37:5

Ryan Kleynhans - Finance Director / Chaplain

As a seven-year United States Air Force veteran, having served on both active duty and in the reserves. After completing my military service, I built a career in the security industry, rising from standing post to Director and ultimately CEO. In that role, I led a company from six figures to a multimillion-dollar enterprise, earning recognition on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing businesses in America.

I am currently completing a degree in psychology with an emphasis in lay counselling and hold certifications in pastoral care, reflecting my commitment to strong leadership, protection, and the well-being of others.

I am committed to serving because I believe protection is not merely a profession, but a calling. Guided by biblical values, I strive to embody not only excellence and strength, but also compassion and purpose in everything I do at Veterans Vanguard Security.

“The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭18‬:‭2‬
